What is the 1-Day Pass IC Card?
The IC card allows you to ride CLEW’s electric bicycles freely for an entire day. You can rent a bicycle from any of the 400 CLEW ports throughout Kyoto City. You can also switch to another CLEW bicycle during your ride. Perfect for weekend outings and sightseeing.
How to Use
1Purchase the IC Card at a Sales Location
Buy the IC card at one of CLEW’s designated sales locations. When purchasing, you’ll need to fill out a form with your name and contact information. Payment methods vary by location, so please check with the staff.
2Unlock the Bicycle
Press the start button on the bicycle, then hold the IC card over the reader to unlock it. You can use the bicycle until 11:59 PM on the day of activation. For 2-Day Pass users, the bicycle can be used until 11:59 PM the following day.
3Temporary Parking and Returning the Bicycle
When temporarily parking, always lock the bicycle in a designated parking space. To unlock it again, repeat the same steps as in step 2.
To return the bicycle, lock it, confirm the blue light is flashing, then press the return button. Please ensure to return the bicycle to a nearby port by 11:59 PM after use.
About Insurance
At CLEW, we provide insurance coverage to prepare for unforeseen circumstances, including injuries to users and liability for damages to third parties.
However, any damages that exceed the policy limits will be the responsibility of the user.
For more details, please refer to Terms of Use, Article 22 (Compensation).

In the event of an accident requiring settlement negotiations or other arrangements, users are responsible for handling such matters themselves.
Furthermore, regardless of the above, if CLEW compensates a third party for damages or incurs losses due to the incident, the user may be required to reimburse CLEW for the related costs.
In Case of an Accident
If an accident occurs during use, please follow the steps below:
- Report to the police (Call 119 if there are any injuries)
- Contact CLEW Customer Support Center

When reporting the accident, please promptly provide the following details to the CLEW Operations Office:
Date and time, location, cause, and situation of the accident.
